Frequently asked questions

Welcome to QQChat. Browse the categories below to find your question, then follow the instructions shown in the App.

Account and Sign-in

01What should I do if I cannot sign in?

Check your network connection, confirm that your account and password are correct, and complete any verification requested on screen. If your session has expired, sign in again. If the problem continues, record the error message and time, and contact the support channel for the version you are using.

02Why do I need to sign in after registering?

Completing registration and signing in are separate steps. After the App confirms registration and returns you to the sign-in screen, sign in with the account and password you just created.

03What if I do not receive an email verification code?

Confirm that your email address is correct, and check your spam folder and email filtering rules. If the password recovery screen offers “Check delivery status”, try that first. If delivery is in progress, wait before checking again instead of repeatedly requesting new codes.

04What if a verification code is incorrect or has expired?

Check which action and account the code belongs to, and enter a valid code for that specific flow. During password recovery, if the App says the code has expired or all attempts have been used, select “Request a new code”. Do not forward verification codes to anyone.

05What should I do if I forget my password?

Select “Forgot password” on the sign-in screen, enter your email address, request and verify an email code, then set a new password. You will need to sign in again afterward. If you cannot access the original email address or the process keeps failing, contact the support channel for your current version.

06What are the requirements for a new password?

When registering, changing your password or resetting it by email, your new password must contain 8–128 characters. Leading and trailing whitespace does not count toward the minimum length. Enter and confirm the password as instructed on screen; both entries must match.

07How do I change my password?

Go to “Me” → “Account and Security” → “Change password”, enter your current and new passwords, and submit. After a successful change, you must sign in again on every device.

Link to this question
08What should I do if I see “Confirm change result” after changing my password?

This means the outcome has not yet been confirmed. Do not assume the change failed and submit it repeatedly. If “Check operation result” is available, use it to check that operation. Otherwise, follow the on-screen instructions to verify it later and contact support if necessary.

09Why am I asked for an authenticator code when signing in?

Some accounts have authenticator verification enabled. Use the code currently shown in the authenticator linked to that account and follow the on-screen instructions. Keep your recovery codes safe and do not send them to others. The current version does not provide a complete self-service recovery flow if you lose all verification methods.

10How do I view or remove signed-in devices?

Go to “Me” → “Account and Security” and view the “Signed-in devices” list. Select “Refresh device list” if needed. Select a device and confirm “Revoke session” to revoke its login session. Before proceeding, check whether you have selected your current device.

Link to this question
11How do I sign out or switch accounts?

Go to “Me” → “Account and Security”, select “Sign out”, and confirm. You can then sign in with another account. “Sign out of all devices” signs that account out on every device, so confirm carefully before proceeding.

Link to this question
12Does signing out delete my account?

No. Signing out only ends your signed-in session. The current version does not yet provide an account deletion option, and signing out cannot delete your account.

Friends and Profile

13How do I add a friend?

Open “Add friends” and follow the instructions to search for the person's account, or use the App's scanning option to scan their QR code. Check their profile, open the request screen, enter a verification message, and send the request.

Link to this question
14Why are we not friends yet after I sent a friend request?

A successful send may only mean the request was delivered; the other person still needs to accept it. Check the request in “New friends”. “Request sent” does not mean the person has already been added as a friend.

Link to this question
15How do I require approval before people can add me?

Go to “Me” → “Account and Security” → “Friend verification”, enable “Require verification when adding me as a friend”, and save. You can then accept or reject incoming requests. If the screen says “Pending confirmation”, confirm and save your choice first.

Link to this question
16How do I edit a friend's remark name and tags?

Open the contact's profile, select “Remarks and tags”, enter a remark name, tags or a description, and save.

Link to this question
17How do I change my profile photo, nickname or status message?

Go to “Me” → “Profile” and select the item to edit. Choose a photo from your library or take one, confirm it, and select “Save profile photo”. After changing your nickname or status message, select “Done”. Wait for the save result.

Link to this question
18What if my profile photo upload is interrupted or saving my profile requires a refresh?

If the profile photo screen shows “Continue previous upload”, you can continue the unfinished upload. After editing your nickname or status message, if you are asked to verify your latest profile, select “View latest profile” and check the current content before proceeding, to avoid overwriting changes from another device.

19Why does my region differ between devices?

In the current version, your region selection is stored locally and is not synchronized across devices. You may need to select it again on a different device.

20Where can I find my QR code?

Go to “Me” → “My QR code”. If the App says it cannot retrieve your information, check your network connection and sign-in status, then open the screen again.

Chats and Groups

21What should I do if a message fails to send?

Check your network connection, then look at the status beside the message. “Sending” does not mean the message has been sent successfully. If it says “Failed to send · Retry”, you can select it to retry. If the problem continues, record the conversation type, time and error message.

Link to this question
22What if a photo fails to send or cannot be viewed?

Confirm that the selected photo opens normally, check your network connection, and try again. When using the system photo picker, select the photos you want to send. If the App says “Image not downloaded; reload the message”, reload that message before viewing it again.

23How do I send a voice message?

Switch the chat input area to voice mode, press and hold “Hold to talk” to record, then release to send. Slide upward while recording to cancel. On first use, allow microphone access when the system asks.

Link to this question
24What if I cannot record or hear a voice message?

If recording fails, check microphone permission. If playback fails, check your phone's volume, headphones or Bluetooth connection, confirm that the network is working, and select the voice message again to play it.

25How do I reply to, forward or delete multiple messages?

Press and hold a message to open its menu, then select “Reply”, “Forward” or “Select multiple”. In multiple-selection mode, select the messages and choose the action. Check the selected content before deleting it.

Link to this question
26Does deleting a message recall it?

No. The current chat menu offers deletion but does not have a recall option. Deleting a message does not tell you whether the recipient can still see content they have already received.

Link to this question
27How do I search chat history or view older messages?

Use the search option on the messages screen, or select “Search chat history” in “Chat settings”. Within a conversation, select “Load earlier messages” when it appears at the top. Content not shown in the current list has not necessarily been lost.

Link to this question
28How do I pin a chat or mute notifications?

Open the conversation's “Chat settings” or “Group info” and enable “Pin chat” or “Mute notifications”. The message list also offers a swipe action to pin a conversation.

Link to this question
29Why do some messages show a read or unread status while others do not?

Read status depends on whether that message has read receipts enabled and supports them. The absence of a receipt does not tell you whether the other person has read the message.

Link to this question
30How do I change a group name or announcement, or invite members?

Open “Group info” and select “Group name”, “Group announcement” or “Invite friends”. Whether the action succeeds depends on group permissions and the current service status. If it fails, read the message shown and contact the group owner if necessary.

Link to this question
31What happens when I clear chat history?

Read the confirmation carefully. In the current live chat mode, the prompt says that local and cloud chat history will be cleared and the action cannot be undone. Save anything you need before deciding to clear it.

32Can I make voice or video calls or join meetings?

The current version does not offer voice calls, video calls or meetings. You can still send voice messages in chats.

Posts and Saved Items

33How do I publish a post?

Open the posting option on the social feed screen, enter text or select photos or a video, check “Who can see this”, and select “Publish”. Photos and videos cannot currently be mixed in one post; choose your media as instructed on screen.

Link to this question
34How do I set a post's visibility?

Before publishing, open “Who can see this” and choose public, only you, or an option for specific people. If you choose to include or exclude certain people, check the list before publishing. A public post should not be treated as visible only to friends.

Link to this question
35Why can I not select some contacts when choosing who can see a post?

The current version first needs to retrieve each contact's corresponding social account information. A contact may be temporarily unavailable for selection while that information is missing. If “Retry retrieving contact information” is shown, select it to try again. Do not substitute another account's information.

Link to this question
36How can I check whether a post was published after an error?

Return to the feed or “My posts” and check whether the content is already there before following the next instructions. A network error may leave the result unconfirmed, so avoid repeatedly publishing the same content.

Link to this question
37Why do my friend and I see different posts?

First check whether you are viewing the same list: recommendations, followed accounts or a profile feed. Post visibility, privacy settings and blocking relationships also affect what appears. Different lists alone do not mean that publishing failed.

Link to this question
38Why can I not open a contact's social profile?

Some contacts temporarily lack social account information, so you may be unable to open their social profile from their contact details. This does not necessarily mean they have not published any posts. Follow the information shown on screen.

Link to this question
39How do I see fewer posts from someone or restrict what they can see from me?

Open the more-options menu on their social profile and choose “Hide their posts”, “Hide my posts from them” or “Block” as needed. Use the corresponding restore or undo option to reverse it. These social feed settings should not be treated as chat friend permission settings.

Link to this question
40What if photos or videos in a post will not open?

Check your network connection, then open the content again. If only the cover is missing, try opening the content itself; a cover issue does not necessarily mean the original video cannot play. If one item keeps failing, record the time and the relevant on-screen message.

Link to this question
41How do I save a post or comment, and where is the saved list?

Open the more-options menu on a post or comment and select “Save”. Saved content offers “Unsave”. The current version does not yet have a separate saved-items list, so there is no unified saved-items page under “Me”.

Link to this question
42What if nothing changes after I like, save or comment?

Refresh first to check the result. Avoid repeated taps or submitting the same comment again. If the App says the content has changed, reload the latest content before deciding whether to proceed.

Link to this question
43How do I view social notifications or clear unread indicators?

Open notifications from the social feed screen to see likes, comments, follows and other notifications. The list includes “Mark all as read”. If an indicator does not update promptly, refresh to check again.

Link to this question
44How do I report an inappropriate post?

Open the post's more-options menu, select “Report”, choose the actual reason, add the necessary explanation, and submit. “Report received” means the report has been received, not that it has already been handled.

App, Permissions and Feedback

45Can I enable a permission after refusing it?

Find the App in iPhone Settings to manage microphone, camera, photo and other permissions as needed. The system photo picker may let you share only selected photos; you do not need to grant access to the entire library just to choose a photo.

Link to this question
46Why do I only see messages after opening the App?

Check your network connection, sign-in status and conversation mute settings. The current version cannot promise that offline notifications will always arrive while the App is in the background or closed. If this happens repeatedly, report the time, whether the App was in the foreground, and your device and version information.

Link to this question
47What if a page keeps loading or shows a network error?

Confirm that your phone can access the internet, try another available network, and reopen the page. If only one page is affected, record its name and the message shown. If the result of a password change, post publication or similar action is unconfirmed, check or verify the original operation first.

Link to this question
48What if the App crashes or freezes?

Reopen the App and check for updates from your current distribution channel. If it happens again, record the steps that trigger it. Do not immediately uninstall the App before reporting the issue, as this may lose local content whose save status has not been confirmed.

Link to this question
49How do I contact support for the current version?

The current version does not yet have an in-app customer support option on the “Me” screen. Use support contact details explicitly published on the app download page or by the channel that provided your current version. Do not treat unfamiliar private chat accounts as official support.

Link to this question
50What information should I include when reporting an issue?

We recommend including:

  • The affected page and approximate time.
  • The steps you took, expected result and actual result.
  • The error message, or screenshots and recordings with sensitive information removed.
  • Your device model, iOS version and app version.
  • Whether the issue happens repeatedly, the network in use, and whether the App was in the foreground or background.

Do not submit login passwords, email verification codes, authenticator codes or recovery codes. Hide unrelated chat content and profile information in screenshots.
